The Energy Bus – The Road Trip Winds Down

Dear Parents,

Hard to believe that the end of another wonderful school year is in sight.  As our year began, we set goals for ourselves as we thought about how we might plan for a successful school year.  Children participated in activities throughout the year as we explored ways to replace our negative thoughts with positive ones that would contribute to our success.

This month, we wrap up our Energy Bus Theme with an acknowledgment of our accomplishments and an appreciation for all the gifts we have in our lives. It’s a month to remember that we can use the tools we have learned to create success in our own lives and contribute to the peace and prosperity of the world.

April is testing month, so it’s already an opportunity to put our positive focus into action.

Research shows that students with a positive mind-set generally score higher on tests. They are persistent, comfortable with challenge, and have a sense of confidence in their abilities. STEP testing can be an opportunity, not just to show how much we have learned academically, but it can also be a time to put into practice the personal skills of approaching challenges with purpose, confidence, and a positive outlook.

In May, we will be organizing for our Summer Reading Project, Vote for Books. Watch for posters, notes and an article in the newsletter.
