COMMUNICATING AROUND THE WORLD
Many of our students come to us with the ability to speak different languages and dialects.
It is very exciting for our staff to be able to provide these intelligent students with additional communication skills in both Spanish and Latin.
Mr. Romo is the newest addition to our foreign language department at New Vistas. Mr. Romo is affiliated with Hispalia, Center of Language and Culture. Mr. Romo acquired his degree in education from Arizona State University and is thoroughly enjoying teaching Spanish to elementary aged students. The NVA 1st through 6th grades are learning great volumes from Mr. Romo and look forward to his arrival each week.
Our Latin classes are taught by Mrs. Cynthia Green (fourth grade students) and Mrs. Stacey Trepanier (fifth and sixth grade students).
Mrs. Green says, "I love teaching Latin." She believes that Latin is very valuable as it helps a student to recognize the stems we learn in unfamiliar words in Science, Literature and Social Studies classes.
